The key to selecting quality bloodstock, lies not within the price, but within effort and originality. Bloodstock agents tend to follow each other around buying what is "hot". Prices are driven up, and horses are bought for 2 and 3 times their worth.
Roos Throughbred Services looks to buy the best athletes we can find, and ignore overpriced individuals.
We also may buy quality bred horses which others ignore due to mild conformational flaws. In short, we buy the best animal within our clients budget. The results speak for themselves. At right is Mr. Kuck who we purchased as a yearling at Keeneland for a mere $10,500. He went on to become an allowance horse on the tough NYRA circuit. We have bought stakes winners for under $10,000 as well. Included in this group is Call Your Mother who we bought for $5,000 privately and developed her into a stakes winner.
Other notables include Nobody's Listening (right) who has become  a solid Allowance horse on the turf. Another bargain at $20,000, he was selected at the Keeneland September sale.
